AH! It appears that spring is slowly beginning to arrive. It’s time to get out and shake off the rust and let in the warmth to ease those aches and pains we have experienced all winter. So many things on the horizon for the members of our post; a reminder that the Legion election will be held on May 2nd, Legion Riders on May 6th, and S.A.L. will be on May 11th. Remember you must be a paid-up member to vote.
May 19th the Massillon Patriotic Committee will hold their fund raiser concert at the Lincoln Lions Theater, tickets are $7.00 at the Mayor’s office. This year’s goal is to raise money for a bench to be placed at Duncan Plaza in honor of Gold Star Mother Cathi Endlich who passed away. Memorial Day weekend will again see us support the Auxiliary’s Poppy Days, grave decorations at Rose Hill Cemetery and of course the Massillon Memorial Day Parade and its new route.
The month of June only slows slightly as the installation dinner is scheduled for Saturday June 3, Legion Riders Memorial Poker Run is Sunday June 11, and for $10.00 you can enjoy the after party with food, raffle baskets, and a 50/50 drawing. Don’t forget our Stars and Stripes will again have its birthday on June 14th.
