Auxiliary President’s Comments

AUXILIARY NEWS
Hello Ladies!
I hope this finds all enjoying these summer days with fresh
fruits and vegetables and flowers in abundance. It is always nice
to see new faces and old friends at the legion. We have so many
people that are full of fun and they invite everyone into their
groups to enjoy the camaraderie. We have wonderful people
that visit our meetings and our post; come see.
We were informed our auxiliary unit was the only one in
the 10th District that achieved membership goal; way to go ladies!!
We have Dixie Witter to thank for so much hard work
on her part to get us to goal. We also came away with many
awards-Americanism, Children and Youth, Community Service,
Junior Achievement and VA & R. We have some very
dedicated women who work diligently for our Auxiliary.
Dixie and I attended the Naturalization at the courthouse
with the Honorable David Nist presiding. Post 44 honor guard
came and gave a short talk about the American Legion and the
auxiliary and all we do to help our veterans. There were 17 new
Americans naturalized and about 75 family members in attendance.
I am, once again, reminding you of the upcoming Santa
auction and the need for items to be auctioned off; just bring
them to the post and let someone at the tavern or one of the officers
know what this is for and we will store it till the date of the
auction. The officers are myself (Happy), Dixie Witter, Peggy
Bigler and Martha Lee Thatcher.
Sam Center is having a Stand down at the Civic Center November
2, to help veterans and they are looking for some volunteers;
if you can donate some time, please let someone at the
Sam Center know. They are open 9am to 3 pm Mon, Wed., and
Friday.
I wish to give everyone a big thank you for everything you
do to make this Post so enjoyable to come to. Make someone’s
day a little brighter with a “random act of kindness”; a small loving
gesture can go a long way in making someone’s day. Think
about what you could do and make yourself happy too.
