Greetings fellow Legionnaires, it’s that time for a new update, and I do have some for you this month. First of all, I can now let the cat out of the bag and announce the Legionnaire of the Year is Peter Mozingo. He has been a long time member of the post and a strong supporter of the Honor Guard even though he has been living in Kent for the last few years. Congratulations Pete!!
On November 11th, we will be having our Veterans Day celebration starting at 11am with lunch and a toast after.
Now for the ladies Auxiliary; they have a lot planned. First up is something to do about ducks and prizes. You will have to find out what that is about from them but it sounds like fun. Next, they are bringing back the Giving Tree. This will have school children’s names on it with gift ideas. You can take the name tag and get the gift then bring it back to the post and they will wrap it up and make sure it gets to the child at the proper time. Do not wrap it!! Then on December 12th, they are going to have a Santa Auction. You bring in something that costs $20 and the people bid on it.
We have a lot going on for the next two months plus Cardingo, and don’t forget, Thanksgiving is going to be here soon and the big one, Christmas.
So take care of yourself and check on your fellow veterans; also if you haven’t already done so, now would be a good time to renew your membership. We are way down this year so try and make time to renew soon.
